MAEOPP Scholarships
The Mid-America Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (MAEOPP) offers four scholarships annually to eligible TRiO participants:
MAEOPP Board Scholarship (one awarded per state)
Ralph J. Pruitt Scholarship (one awarded in specified state)
Silas Purnell Scholarship (one awarded in specified state)
James B. Hamilton Scholarship (one awarded for region)
The 2011 competition will be announced in January 2011 and applications will be due in March 2011. Be sure to download the cover letter to submit with your application. Visit http://www.maeopp.org/Scholarship.htm to learn more about MAEOPP scholarships.

| The 2010 recipient of the Minnesota Board of Directors Scholarship is Ciera Jones, a U of MN Twin Cities TRiO Upward Bound student from North High School. Not only is Ciera an outstanding student, but she has been involved in Student Council, National Honor Society, Volleyball, captain of the Softball team, and mentor for the Mothers Against Drunk Driving Protecting You Protecting Me program. Graduating in June 2010, Ciera Jones is pursuing a degree in Sports Management at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities College of Liberal Arts. | |||
